About This Blog

You don't have to be a Christian to read the Bible.  Sure, it's a big book but this year we can tackle it together.  Each day of 2009 I will post a portion of scripture for you to read.  By the end of the year we will have made it through the entire book.  My posts here will be chronological so we'll go through scripture as it happened.

If you look to the right you will see a list of people committing to this challenge.  You can add your name to this list by emailing me at readthebiblethisyear@gmail.com.  Just let me know that you want to be on the list and let me know what name to use (your first name only, first and last, blog name, made up name... whatever).  If you have a blog or web page include the URL and I'll link your name to it.

You can participate in this challenge in three ways.

1. Subscribe to the RSS feed of this blog.  Each day I'll post a new reading and it will come right to your RSS feed reader.  If you're unfamiliar with an RSS feed check out Google Reader or Bloglines for more info.  This is the easiest way to participate.

2. Be notified of the scripture reading by a daily email.  If you'd like to select this option please let me know in the email you send me.  Bloglines will allow me to notify 10 people by email so leave this option open to people who don't use RSS feed readers.

3. Bookmark and visit this site any time you want.

Please email me at readthebiblethisyear@gmail.com with any questions.

  1. Amy- this is a cool idea... I just finished reading the entire bible and it took me eight months. I'm glad you're doing it over a year though; you'll get more in depth. It's definitely shown me a lot and I hope it blesses you and your readers! Good luck!
